First port of call: Carcasonne. Just160 kilometres from its border with Spain, visitors will be transported back to the medieval period, an era bursting with history and vestiges of man's history, such as the city walls. Another of the attractions of the capital of the Aude region is the Midi Canal, an exceptional 17th century work, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

And from the south, we now head east: Bordeaux awaits you with its river, its vineyards, its “Port of the Moon”, Place de la Bourse and Grand Théâtre, among others. But the city is also synonymous with art. It is the home of various museums, the main ones being Musée d’Aquitaine, Musée des Beaux Arts, Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Musée d’Art Contemporain. The ideal place in which to indulge the senses of the soul.

Visitors to the FRANCE stand at FITUR 2010 will be able to continue their journeys, this time to the most frequently visited place on the planet, the Ile-de-France, or Paris region. Visitors will receive a special gift: Parisian Vogue, fashionable places of the Parisians, a guide to discovering, first hand, the infinite array of cultural attractions offered by the city, a manual containing all the secrets to “French-style living ” with its abundant vitality and constant activity.

Another of the featured destinations of the French stand is the island of Martinique, situated in the paradise of the Caribbean Sea. A visit to the “Island of Flowers”, renowned for its abundant vegetation, is like entering another world: idyllic scenery, average year-round temperatures of 26 degrees, white sandy beaches, clear waters and tropical rainforests. Martinique is also the ideal destination for Business Tourism, thanks to its excellent infrastructures; it has a conference center and several luxury hotels.
