During the Fair, representatives from the company will demonstrate the benefits of Flipflow on their stand, explaining how its use contributes to reducing the risk of thromboembolism on long flights. Economy Class Syndrome is a venous disease whose symptoms range from mild discomfort, such as oedema, numbness, tingling in the limbs and general tiredness, to more severe and potentially fatal symptoms such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.

The condition affects 3% of healthy travellers on journeys in excess of 4 hours, or one in 4,000 healthy travellers. In addition to these healthy travellers are the many people with underlying conditions, and those at a higher risk of suffering venous obstruction, such as the obese, pregnant women, people with chronic heart conditions, tumour patients, diabetics, etc.

Flipflow will be marketed primarily through outlets at large airports, as well as other transport hubs such as train and bus stations. The product will be available from health-related outlets such as pharmacies, drugstores, gyms and sports centres, etc. During the Fair, the team of experts responsible for the discovery will be available to answer questions from everyone interested in learning about the device.
