The COMMUNITY OF MADRID will be at the International Tourism Fair, FITUR, with a stand promoting city breaks, which are now an essential area of its tourism campaign. Under the slogan 3, 2, 1 Madrid, the Community will be presenting all the options available for discovering different destinations in the region during three-day getaways. The option is aimed at three main groups: Business, families and young people.
MADRID wants this initiative to encourage year-round tourism, bring in travellers whatever the season, attract the city-break public and position the region as a favourite destination by drawing attention to the leisure and pleasure it can offer tourists through its culture, cuisine, nightlife and nature, etc.
Visitors to FITUR 2010 will see that the COMMUNITY OF MADRID has designed its stand around three central blocks of images showing a full day in Madrid (morning, afternoon and night). It also has three interactive areas where visitors will find made-to-measure plans and a simulation room with laser technology where they can get the feel of the destination through surround sound and images.
The stand also has a spot set aside for cinema, showing videos from a project set up by TURISMO MADRID, Madrid Dares You, giving a different view of the region. In 2009, the project was run in the United States with students from New York's leading cinema school, which will be boosted this year by several initiatives where the spotlight is on the cinema.
