SLOVENIA is presenting itself at FITUR 2010 as a place of natural beauty, a small country in the heart of Europe that has become a favourite destination of Spanish tourists. This is reflected in the launch of a new service: Adria Airways, the national airline, which will offer direct flights between Madrid and Barcelona and the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.
Visitors to the SLOVENIA stand at FITUR will be able to discover all the latest tourist proposals from a country that delights and amazes with its majestic Alpine peaks and its modern Spas and thermal baths in which to relax the body and mind. Also worth mentioning are the bustling cities such as Ljubljana and Maribor, the warm waters of the Adriatic Sea or its sunny beaches.
But SLOVENIA also offers many other attractions, such as the Postojna and Skocjan system of caves, unique in the world for its conservation of the oldest underground train, and an eclectic cuisine with traces of influences from the gastronomy of the neighbouring countries: Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia.
In addition, Slovenians are renowned for their hospitality and their open, welcoming nature. Many of its inhabitants speak at least one foreign language, making tourists’ stays in Slovenia considerably easier.
This colourful country is also known for the quality of its hotels, its wide array of cultural activities, its entertainment, the variety of its events, and, above all, for a tourist infrastructure that is considered to be one of the best in the Adriatic region.
