TOURISM AUSTRALIA launches the Spanish version of its website at FITUR

TOURISM AUSTRALIA, the Australian government body responsible for promoting the country as a tourist destination, will be at FITUR, the International Tourism Fair, for the first time. The idea is to continue to promote Australia to the Spanish public, and to consolidate the positive growth indicators observed between 2007 and 2008, when the country saw the number of tourists coming from Spain grow more sharply than from any other country.

TOURISM AUSTRALIA launches the Spanish version of its website at FITUR

As a result of this, Australia is officially launching its newly-adapted website www.australia.com to the Spanish market as a milestone to mark this new era at the trade fair. This dynamic website is a useful tool for planning and organising a trip “Down Under”, whether you are ‘going it alone’ or using a specialised travel agent certified in Spain as an Aussie Specialist. TOURISM AUSTRALIA hopes this launch will open a new window to the Australian continent, and the unique experiences it can offer Spanish tourists.

The website will be accessible during the trade fair through various computers connected to www.australia.com. There will also be a prize draw for two plane tickets to Australia with the participation of Qatar Airways.

TOURISM AUSTRALIA has also organised activities and tools for the professional sector, to boost promotion of the destination and to increase knowledge about Australia. FITUR 2010 will also see the launch of the online training programme Aussie Specialist in Spanish. This is an up-to-date course for Travel Agents with audiovisual applications that can be followed on www.aussiespecialist.com. Following the course makes it possible for agents to pass on more knowledge to new customers and to raise the profile of this destination, as well as the chance to discover Australia on an orientation trip that goes by the name of Corroboree.
